STILL in a state of shock over Hummel's injury. Glad KG5 saved Phat's pick:

Michigan 60 at OHIO STATE 70--Buckeyes regain shot at Big Ten co-championship
Minnesota 62 at ILLINOIS 69--this should clinch the NCAA for the Illini
NORTHWESTERN 65 at Penn State 60--But is it too late?
MICHIGAN STATE 72 at Purdue 66--In time, Purdue works out Hummel's absence--maybe not this fast though.
Indiana 64 at IOWA 66--If a tree falls in forest and no one hears it, did it really fall?

Dan I would have gladly taken a loss to have Robbie back. However, i am getting sick of basically EVERYONE from ESPN, to FOX, to SI saying we're done we're still a hell of a team. We're going to miss Robbie but I have faith in our guys, and they are playing for a bigger cause now as well. I think we just need to play a game.

Sunday was SOOO!! disgusting. We couldn't shoot, couldn't rebound and Kramer, even with ballhandling issues, was the only Boiler who seemed to have his head in the game. On to March 2-4:

MINNESOTA 68 at Michigan 65--With the Gophers having a pulse of sorts regarding the Big Dance, they have more to play for than the NIT-bound Wolverines.

Illinois 63 at OHIO STATE 68--Sorry Andrew and BN, but I'm rooting for Keady protege Weber and the Illini here. Won't matter though; Turner and the Buckeyes secure the tourney #1 seed.

Indiana 60 at PURDUE 72--(yes, Phats, I AM capable of picking the Boilers in a midweek game). Moore and Johnson take out their weekend embarrassment on the Hoosiers.

Chicago State 50 at NORTHWESTERN 75--What in the heck??!

Iowa 60 at WISCONSIN 74--Bo ain't losing in Kohl to the Hawkeyes.

Penn State 64 at MICHIGAN STATE 76--Nittany Lions at least have a chance Sunday--not against the Spartans, though.

Tough, tough break for the Boilers in so many ways. A Big 10 title and #1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament at stake for my Buckeyes tonight, and then a long rest before the Big 10 Tournament. And don't worry Dan, I would think you were absolutely nuts if you didn't want the Illini to upset us tonight. Some think the Illini are on the bubble, but they can remove all doubt by beating Wisconsin again this week. The Boilers should have no problem with the Hoosiers, in spite of the rivalry, but face a classic trap game, as the Buckeyes did last week in State College. The Lions are playing all loosey-goosey and are playing with more confidence than they have all season. any win at this point for the Boilers @ PSU would be huge with a share of the Big 10 regular season title on the line. The Spartans home court should be enough for MSU to win two this week and gain a share of the title too. If the Gophers win two this week, they are firmly on the bubble with a real chance to make the Big Dance, unless they go one and done at the BTT.
The Buckeyes, Boilers, Spartans and Badgers are all in the Big Dance, regardless of what happens.
With all that, let Big 10 title week begin!

Tue 03/02/10

Minnesota 64 @ Michigan 62 - Gophers add another road win to their resume.
Illinois 57 @ Ohio State 73 - on Senior night, a Big 10 title on the line, and likely Evan Turner's last home game as a Buckeye, no way OSU will fall flat here.

Wed 03/03/10

Indiana 55 @ Purdue 77 - Senior night in West Lafayette = a beat-down of IU.
Chicago State 51 @ Northwestern 63 - bye-week filler helps the Cats, but only for NIT seeding.
Iowa 60 @ Wisconsin 68 - Badgers home court streak begins anew.

Thu 03/04/10

Penn State 63 @ Michigan State 72 - Lions hang tough, until the Spartans finally put them away.

Sat 03/06/10

Northwestern 65 @ Indiana 60 - see above comment on the Cats and the NIT.
Purdue 68 @ Penn State 65 - Boilers survive a huge scare at PSU.

Sun 03/07/10

Wisconsin 62 @ Illinois 71 -Illini sweep the Badgers and secure an NCAA bid.
Michigan 66 @ Michigan State 72 - the rivalry keeps the Wolves close, but not close enough.
Iowa 71 @ Minnesota 76 - Gophers win the rivalry game and hope for the Big Dance invite.
